Transparent batteries were demonstrated at NTT’s R&D Forum in mid-November after Hironobu Minowa and his colleagues from the Japanese communications giant embarked on a project to make a battery as inconspicuous as possible.
The glass currently has a low output, but developers say extra energy storage could be added to enable use in smart glasses, car windows and contact lenses.
