APTOS 2020: AI and teleophthalmology

Featuring top-notch speakers from Korea and around the world, the Asia Pacific Tele-Ophthalmology Society (APTOS) 2020 online, one-day conference on 12 December will showcase clinical applications of artificial intelligence (AI) in telemedicine and teleophthalmology’s role in bringing together physicians and patients in very remote places.

 

The World Health Organisation’s (WHO’s) Dr Alarcos Cieza, who oversees WHO’s work on vision, hearing, rehabilitation and disability, is the keynote speaker and will share her perspectives on the use of telemedicine and AI in the elimination of preventable blindness.

 

The conference programme also includes sessions on AI and global health, AI technical updates, natural language processing in medicine, an AI workshop and a social element in the form of a quiz during the closing session.
