Kirsty Pienaar

Kirsty Pienaar recently stepped into her new role as account and portfolio manager at Titan Optical. Pienaar serves on the Optometrists and Dispensing Opticians Board and comes to Titan from Ocula, where she has held various roles since 2020, beginning in Wanaka as a practice manager and senior dispensing optician, before eventually becoming its operations manager. “It was exciting to be part of the team that took Ocula from three to seven stores.”

“Kirsty comes to us with a wealth of knowledge and experience in the optometry world. As a qualified and registered dispensing optician who has worked in practices, her skillset is expansive,” said Cam Gordon, Titan founder and director.

Gordon said Pienaar will be looking after most of Titan’s customers from the top of the North Island down to New Plymouth, primarily in eyewear and dispensing product business, but will also be taking on some of the more optometry-focused equipment for that region too.

What Pienaar says excites her most about the new role is the diversity. “I get to cover some amazing core brands and at the same time assist independent optometry by supplying bespoke dispensing equipment. Eventually I’ll also be touching on the ophthalmology side, which is super exciting as I have previous experience in that environment from my time in South Africa.”

Pienaar says she particularly enjoys meeting new people, making connections and supporting them with her unique skillset. “I bring a perspective that spans from paediatric dispensing to stock-plan management and recruitment,” she says. “I’ll be able to add value in all sorts of areas, on top of providing exceptional products.”
