Bausch + Lomb (B+L) is changing distributor in New Zealand – its pharma portfolio is now with longtime surgical distributor Toomac Ophthalmic and the contact lens and solutions portfolio is transferring to Healthcare Logistics (HCL) from 1 September.
Mark Taylor, general manager at Toomac, said they are delighted to combine B+L’s surgical and pharmaceutical product groups – the latter including treatments for ocular inflammation, infection and dry eye – under one roof. “This unified approach allows us to offer better access to both current and exciting-pipeline products, supporting New Zealand’s eyecare professionals with a more complete and efficient service,” he said.
When it comes to CLs and CL solutions, combining HCL’s robust logistical expertise and B+L’s 170 years of eye health expertise puts the partnership in a good position to support optometry practices locally, said Janelle Dilao, associate brand manager, B+L Vision Care ANZ. “HCL are experts at what they do and we are working closely with them to ensure a smooth transition.”
In a letter to customers, former distributor Radiant Health said its decision to step away from the B+L portfolio was driven by a desire to “focus more closely on our core business areas… and rich pipeline of new products coming soon”.
