More than 100 eyecare professionals joined the Essilor NZ team to discover more about its consumer campaigns and visit Essilor’s new purpose-built facility in Henderson, Auckland.
Optometrists and dispensing opticians were greeted virtually by Essilor ANZ chief executive Pierre Longerna. He discussed Essilor ANZ’s plans for future growth and its continuing ambition to lead through innovation and partnerships. Cancer Society NZ CEO Lucy Elwood talked about the dangers of UV light, emphasising the role optometrists play in increasing public awareness. Auckland University’s School of Optometry and Vision Science (SOVS) was represented by Dr Joanna Black, Associate Professor Jacqui Ramke and professional teaching fellow Veeran Morar, who discussed SOVS’ community initiatives supported by Essilor. While Essilor’s national sales manager Guy Parbury shared some tips on communication, particularly how to explain unique innovative benefits and healthcare messages and how this will help practices stand out from price-based retail optometry.
The evening was rounded off by Kumuda Setty, Essilor’s national sales and marketing manager, who introduced Essilor’s ‘See More Do More’ multi-pair glasses campaign and its Transitions photochromic lens incentives, which run until the end of June. Setty also presented Essilor Pro, a new support portal.
