This year, Silmo Paris has appointed celebrated French designer Olivier Lapidus as president of the Silmo d’Or jury.
Beginning his career at Balmain, Lapidus later became artistic director first at couture house Lapidus, founded by his father Ted Lapidus, then of Lanvin in 2017, before devoting himself fully to design.
Throughout his career, Lapidus has consistently sought to integrate technological research into the creative process, said Silmo in a statement. “Olivier Lapidus will bring a fresh and boundary-pushing perspective to this edition, where contemporary design, craftsmanship and innovation intersect with the world of optics. His presidency symbolises a desire to open up to new territories in contemporary design. A president with his eyes set on the future.”
Hosted at Paris Nord Villepinte, Silmo Paris is on 26–29 of September, for more info, click here.
