New myopia survey needs your input

New Zealand’s eyecare professionals are being called upon to ensure the country’s myopia-control practices are represented in a new global survey.

The International Myopia Institute (IMI) said its Myopia Clinical Practice Survey has a focus on awareness, use and relevance of online myopia progression risk calculators. “It will be good for New Zealand to be represented in datasets,” said Jagrut Lallu, one of New Zealand’s two IMI ambassadors, alongside Auckland’s Dr Rasha Altaie. “Broad participation is essential to ensure the findings reflect real-world practices across different regions and levels of expertise,” added Aston University’s Professor James Wolffsohn, an IMI advisory panel member and honorary professor at the University of Auckland.

The online survey takes around five minutes and responses are anonymous.

A different survey on current trends in myopia management, being conducted by University of Auckland students, is still welcoming responses until 30 November.
