Building on the success of its Macutec and Lacritec products in Australia and New Zealand, Stiltec is launching its Daily Multivitamin with Vision Support.

Supplement sales in New Zealand are estimated at well over $500 million per year, with a third of that through pharmacies, said Greg Hepple, Stiltec director. “The multivitamin market alone is estimated at over $100 million, so this launch represents a great opportunity for optometrists to pull back some sales, which typically move from optometry to retail pharmacy stores,” he said.

Multivitamin with Vision Support contains 27 active ingredients to support general health, daily energy production, plus bone and immune system health, including a 1,000IU dose of vitamin D. It also contains betacarotene, lutein, zeaxanthin, Bilberry, eyebright (Euphrasia officinalis), plus vitamins C and E, and zinc, all specifically tailored to nourish eyes and support healthy vision.

Initial feedback from optometrists in Australia has been very positive, said Hepple. “We also guarantee, as with all our products, that it will never be sold through pharmacies or groceries, thereby continuing our support of the optometry channel.”

It should have a broad appeal, he said. "It is targeted at adults who seek additional support for their eye health, perhaps because they have a family history of eye health issues or have a general desire to do more for their eyes."
