Ophthalmic nurses banding together to be heard

New Zealand’s ophthalmic nurses are being encouraged to ‘get a seat at the table’ by being part of the new International Ophthalmic Nursing Association (IONA).

IONA nurse representative Lynne Hadley said that developing a cooperative where ophthalmic nurses can meet, share their resources, experience, expertise and knowledge, and develop new opportunities and networks is paramount. “The new IONA cooperative will also offer the wider eyecare community a global communication point-of-contact for nurse engagement, opinion and council, as we work together towards collective eyecare targets. We are looking forward to welcoming nurses and non-nurses to join us on our new LinkedIn page.”
