Mortimer Hirst has increased its number of Auckland practices to four after acquiring Paterson Burn Optometrists’ practice in Newmarket.

Although it is sad to say farewell to Newmarket, said Paterson Burn CEO Cale Stevenson, this move allows the Paterson Burn group to focus on growth closer to home in and around the Waikato. “The Waikato’s population growth is rapid and unrelenting. More and more people are looking at the region as a viable, attractive and more affordable place to live and the economic indicators point to ongoing growth, so it makes sense to ensure that we look to expand our offering here.”

Paterson Burn is working closely with Mortimer Hirst throughout the Newmarket transition to ensure a smooth handover of the business with minimal disruption for suppliers, patients and business partners, he added.

Paterson Burn’s locations include Cambridge, Chartwell, Hamilton, Tokoroa, Te Awamutu, Thames and Waiuku, while Mortimer Hirst adds Newmarket to its Auckland-based practices in the CBD,

St Heliers and Takapuna.
