De Rigo boosts portfolio

Italian, family-owned De Rigo Vision has acquired Rodenstock’s eyewear division, adding two prestigious brands to its portfolio while strengthening its distribution platform and European footprint.

 

The addition of Rodenstock’s own eyewear brand and Porsche Design Eyewear is a great boost to the De Rigo portfolio, said general manager Angelina Chee. “We are very excited to add these two great brands, which are already well known and respected in the market.”

 

In a joint statement, Chee and Tim McCann, general manager Rodenstock Australia, said they are looking forward to a close working relationship to ensure a smooth transition, ultimately enhancing the customer experience of both Rodenstock lenses and De Rigo Eyewear. With the transition of the business, all existing contracts will continue, moving from Rodenstock to De Rigo, said Chee, adding De Rigo will guarantee aftersales service on all products from the moment the acquisition is concluded.

 

New Zealand De Rigo distributor Jamie Smith from Look Sharp Eyewear said he and business partner Paul Beswick, Dynamic Eyewear, will evaluate how the two brands fit with their portfolio post-launch.

 

The transaction is expected to be completed by the end of 2023’s second quarter.
