Australian-based corporates are extending their service offerings with Specsavers piloting intense pulsed light (IPL) treatment for dry eye and George & Matilda embracing audiology.
A Specsavers statement said it has been providing advice on dry-eye treatment, including lifestyle advice, eye drops and shared care, for some time, so the IPL expansion is a logical next step. However, the company said it would not comment further until the trial has been completed and assessed.
George & Matilda launched audiology at three locations in New South Wales last year and is now looking to expand the service across its network. With a background in both optometry and audiology, George & Matilda’s general manager of audiology Ant Hudson, said the company wants to offer a service beyond the mainstream, guided by its ‘patient first’ principle, competitive pricing and broader service offerings, including cerumen management (ear wax removal) and free hearing tests.
